・2007年第1回リーディング
　24/25 + 6/6 + 7/10 = 37/41
　所要時間　11:50 + 10:45 + 31:55 = 54:30
すらすら読めたが、選択肢が難しかった。

・2007年第2回リーディング
　24/25 + 4/6 + 7/10 = 35/41
　所要時間　10:15 + 13:15 + 42:25 = 65:55
長文が難しくてモヤモヤ感が残る回でした。

・2007年第3回リーディング
　25/25 + 5/6 + 9/10 = 39/41
　所要時間　記録なし（多分60分以内）
語彙・熟語初めて満点をとれた。簡単な回でした。

・2006年第3回リーディング
　24/25 + 6/6 + 8/10 = 38/41
　所要時間　10:50 + 13:05 + 36:55 = 60:50
だんだん長文問題の解答コツが分かってきた気がする。

英検1級英作文の練習 9回目

ほぼ毎日英作文をやっています。これ9個目です。試験までに30個書く予定です。
今回の３つBodyの分量がほぼ均一となっていて、内容もそんなに悪くはないとおもいます。しかし、書くのが少し遅かったため30分を超えてしまいました。

●今日のお題
Should advertising for harmful substances such as alcohol and tobacco be more heavily restricted?

    Allowing advertisement of harmful substances is one of the worldwide and controversial problems in each country. Someone may consider those advertisements are not harmful. However, I am inclined to believe that the harmful substances should be more strictly restricted. This is due to the fact that alcohol and tobacco have negative impacts on our health, economic growth, and education levels.

    Firstly, undoubtedly, alcohol and tobacco can deteriorate people’s health. This truth has been verified by countless papers. Moreover, according to some of the papers, the average age of people who do not touch alcohol and tobacco is ten years longer than those who often drink or smoke.

    Furthermore, alcohol and tobacco can worsen economic growth. Experts say that regular smokers spend one hour smoking during working time. This means that smoking can decrease productivity. In addition, drunkers can not concentrate on their tasks, which is also a serious concern for firms.

    Last but not least, young people are easily susceptible to those harmful advertisements. Starting drinking and smoking from young age will prevent them from concentrating on study. The officials of the Education Department warns that it can lead to a detrimental consequence in the future.

    Taking the above mentioned into consideration, I am of the opinion that we should more heavily restrict advertising for harmful substances more heavily.

 

DMM英会話30000分達成

1日3レッスンを1日も休まずに1年間やったら、あっという間に30000分を達成できました。そして、称号がついに最高の「レジェンド」となりました。

個人的に20000分から30000分までの間が一番成長したとおもっています。どんな話題のディスカッションでも瞬時に言い返すことはできるようになりました。また、得意分野となると早口で1分以上喋るときもあります。しかし、まだまだボキャブラリーや文法が拙いので、使えるフレーズをたくさん覚えて、口に出す練習をしたいです。

１次試験１ヶ月前

１ヶ月前となったので、このあたりから徐々に過去問を解いていきます。ヤフオク、アマゾン、ブックオフなどを定期的にウォッチして、２６回分の過去問をかき集めました。１ヶ月しかないが、全問アタックします。



最近やった過去問の結果

・2008年第1回リーディング
　23/25 + 3/6 + 9/10 = 35/41
　所要時間　13:30 + 18:50 + 50:05 = 82:25
時間を気にしていなかったため、予定時間（70分）を大幅にオーバーした。

・2008年第2回リーディング
　21/25 + 6/6 + 7/10 = 34/41
　所要時間　11:45 + 11:40 + 41:00 = 64:25
この回から読むスピードとリズムを心がけるようにした。結果的に正しい選択肢を選ぶことはできたが7割の確信しかもてなかった。もっと練習して9割以上の確信をめざしたい。

英検1級といえども、本文をちゃんと「読めれば」、瞬時に正しい選択肢を見極めることができます。これがまだまだできていないのは、速読したときの精読力がまだ足りていないこととおもいます。

Should the number of weekly working hours be decreased?

    The length of working hours is a worldwide and controversial problem. I strongly support the idea that we should decrease the number of weekly working hours because shortening working hours can boost our working efficiency, conduce to build a tidy relationship with family and local community, and stimulate economic growth. I want to elaborate on the reasons of my opinion in the following paragraphs.

    The primary reason is that decreasing working hours can make us work more effectively and employees will be eager to finish their allocated tasks in shorter time as they can. Experts say that most employees waste their 50% of working time in browsing webs and chatting with their colleagues because there are not so many tasks to do but only stay in the office until the end of office time.

    Furthermore, if we can decrease working hours, then we will have more time to spend  with family and local community. It is said that many social problems stem from lacking or fragile relationship with people around us.

    Last but not least, decreasing working hours can give us more time to shop. Experts say that more than 75% of workers do not have enough time to go to shops on weekdays. If they can leave their office earlier than usual, economy will be accelerated by their potential consumption.

    Taking the above aforementioned into consideration, I am of the opinion that our weekly working hours should be decreased.
