英検1級英作文の練習 1回目

英作文の練習用にジャパンタイムズの「英作文問題完全制覇」を使っています。212個のコンテンツブロックから使えるフレーズとアイデアをできるだけ多くパクりたいです。試験日までに30個の実践問題中20個は消化したいです。



今日は1番目の実践問題に挑戦しました。書いたものをDMM英会話の先生に添削してもらいました。書いた内容に関するディスカッションも同時に行っていたので、ライティングとスピーキングをいっぺんに鍛えることができます。しかし、事前に英作文をしないといけないので、このスタイルの受講は準備が大変です。

Should Japan have more lenient immigration policies?

    Immigration is a worldwide and a controversial problem. We can not deny that there are some people against the lenient immigration policies due to concerns of local community safety and terrorist attacks. But, I strongly support the idea that we should allow more immigrants to live and work in Japan. I have three points to eloborate on the reasons of my opinion.

    The primary reason is that Japan has a big problem of shortage of working-age population. The National Labor and Health Department predicts that Japan will lose half of the current workers in two decades unless we fix it. Especially, IT industry needs more skilled workers. Therefore, introducing  lenient immigration policies is unavoidable.

    Further more, increased immigrants can bring positive economic consequences. The number of foreign visitors has doubled in the past five years and those visitors have significantly boosted Japanese economy. If we have more immigrants, then we can accelerate the economic growth. In addition, the government can expect more tax revenue.

    Last but not least, the idea that immigrants are dangerous is false. According to the recent survey of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, there are no concrete figures to show that foreigners commit more crimes than Japanese. The cause of the false image of foreigners is media’s broadcast negative portrayal of them.

    Taking the above points into consideration, I am of the opinion that lenient immigration policies is beneficial for us.

・初めて英検の英作文でしたので、予定時間を大幅オーバーした
・もっと瞬時にネタを思いつく練習が必要のようだ
・自作のテンプレートはもっと改善できる余地がある
・手書きはおもったより時間がかかる
・字が汚い
